The research was carried out in 2016, in the Residential Center of Integral Care "San Francisco de Asís" of the city of Iquitos- Peru. The study was carried out with 47 elderly adults. The objective was to determine the relationship between the nutritional status and the diet consumed by the older adult of the center. Data collection was obtained through nutritional assessment and the direct weighing technique. Meals with calibrated instruments to provide maximum safety and precision in the results, nutritional factsheets were validated by expert judgment and the results were processed and analyzed with the SPSS 20 program to establish the relation of the hypothesis. The predominant age is 75 to 90 years, being the masculine gender in its majority. The nutritional status is normal with 53.2%, slimming 31.9% and with low weight 14.9%; The calorie level of the diet consumed by the older adult is normal at 55.3%, at a low level at 42.6% and only an adult with a high calorie level. As much as nutritional status and diet there is a highly significant relationship, which confirmed the hypothesis that if there is a relationship between the nutritional status and the diet consumed by the older adult housed in the Residential Center of Comprehensive Care "San Francisco de Asís ".
