Obesity is a growing public health problem, affecting pregnant, which have been described pathologies of pregnancy, perinatal and caesarean sections, so this study aims to determine the relationship between maternal obesity and the presence of maternal and perinatal complications, which was developed a cross-sectional retrospective analytical observational study evaluating the medical histories of 183 mothers attending OB/GYN Hospital III Iquitos of EsSalud Service in the year of 2016; of which 61 are obesity, finding that obese mothers have a significant risk of maternal and perinatal complications, maternal obesity was significantly associated with urinary tract infection, caesarean, induced hypertension in the pregnancy, preeclampsia, acute fetal distress and fetal macrosomia. It is concluded that maternal obesity is correlated with the presence of maternal and perinatal complications.
