The present research work wasaimed at identification and spectrophotometric determination of secondary metabolites of eleven morphotypes of B. orellana L. leaves collected in the Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants of the Faculty of Agronomy of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon. Regarding the values obtained for total phenols, there are four morphotypes with maximum values: morphotype 9, 11,10 and 7 with 17567.004 mg / 100g, 15724.657 mg / 100g, 15165.373 mg / 100g and 14814.449 mg / 100g respectively. For flavonoids morphotype 9 with 86.473 mg / 100g, morphotype 11 has 86.372 mg / 100g, morphotype 10 with 85.101 mg / 100g and morphotype 7 with 84.080 mg / 100g. For anthocyanins morphotype 9, 11,10 and 7 with 11,210; 4.724 mg / 100g; 4.341 mg / 100g and 4.123 mg / 100g respectively. For morphotype catechins 9,11,10 and 7 with 0.018; 0.017mg / 100g; 0.005 mg / 100g and 0.004 mg / 100g respectively. In values obtained for alkaloids, morphotypes 9,11,10 and 7 present 45.82 mg / 100g, 44.94 mg / 100g, 39.72 mg / 100g and 39.04 mg / 100g respectively, these values being the most tall; and, for saponins, morphotypes 9,11,10 and 7 present 577,741 mg / 100g, 567,654 mg / 100g, 549,561 mg / 100g and 514,583 mg / 100g contain higher values compared to the other morphotypes. The results obtained from the eleven morphotypes were evaluated using the Analysis of Variance and Duncan's Test. It is concluded that B. orellana L., is a plant to which the presence of bioactive compounds is indicated: saponins, alkaloids and flavonoids; the same ones that are attributed physiological properties among which are: antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antiviral, anticancer, antioxidant, among others.
