The German Alexander von Humboldt School was designed between 1958 and 1964 by the architect Paul Linder for a rural context. However, currently the school is presented as an isolated and private facility that does not generate any response to the new urban dynamics that occur around it. As a result of this situation, we seek to redesign the urban limits of the schools in Lima around the Higuereta oval through the implementation of a commercial and educational-cultural program; and the expansion of public pedestrian space so that it achieves the character of civic infrastructure. The result of the intervention is an educational center that, despite being private, recognizes the new urban dynamics that exist around it and manages to connect with the needs of the city; In addition, it offers the opportunity to develop new activities for the community. Likewise, this occurs through new buildings that serve as pieces of urban articulation that offer new programs and are related to language; and strategies applied in the original project. In conclusion, currently schools are private facilities that contain themselves; However, given the constant demand for cultural and educational infrastructure in various areas of Lima, it is possible that these take on the character of civic infrastructure and can contribute to new urban dynamics. Given this situation, the reconfiguration of the urban limits of the Alexander von Humboldt school makes the educational center a new civic infrastructure that can offer new activities to the surrounding community in addition to adding new development spaces for its students.
