INTRODUCTION: The traditional treatment for paranoid schizophrenia has multiple advantages and disadvantages in the long and short term, one of which is manifested in the negative syndrome that is a characteristic of this pathology, which is not easy to manage since this could lead to leaving targeted drugs. to the main management of it, however, an alternative arises to complement the therapy and it is the use of omega 3 orally to control or reduce the negative symptoms and make the patient have an integral management of his diagnosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Our study is quantitative, non-experimental, retrospective, cross-sectional and correlational. The study population included all patients diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia who were treated at a mental health center in Quillabamba 2022. For the initial data analysis, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was used, correlation test: Rho of Spearman and to measure the effect size, the Cohens'D statistical test was used. For statistical analysis, the free SPSS VERSION 25.0 program was used.
