The objective of this study was to assess the level of knowledge about hospitalization criteria for odontogenic infections of dental surgeons in the city of Cusco, 2022. The study was non- experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional, where a sample of 303 dental surgeons was considered. . To assess the level of knowledge regarding the criteria for hospitalization for odontogenic infections, they were questioned about clinical evaluation, care protocol, hospitalization due to severity of injury, and need for hospitalization; all these aspects according to sex, age, length of experience and university of origin. The results showed that the level of knowledge about hospitalization criteria for odontogenic infections was regular (63%); both the male and female sex demonstrated regular knowledge (F=35.6%, M=27.4%), according to age group the highest percentage was deficient in early adulthood and late adulthood (10.2% and 2.3% respectively), according to time of experience was deficient in those from 1 to 5 years (14.5%), observing a tendency to increase the level of knowledge according to the time of professional experience and according to the university of origin, both the graduates of the public and private universities, the highest percentage was regular in both (21.8% and 41.3% respectively). The level of knowledge about hospitalization criteria for odontogenic infections according to the clinical evaluation dimension was deficient (81.8%), according to the care protocol dimension it was good. (50.8%), according to the hospitalization dimension due to the severity of the injury was good. (53.1%) and according to the need for hospitalization dimension was deficient. (41.6%). Concluding that the level of knowledge of dental surgeons regarding hospitalization criteria for odontogenic infections is regular.
