The aim of this thesis was to determine the relationship between chronological age and the stage of mandibular third molar maturation using the Demirjian method in panoramic radiographs, Cusco 2023. The study was quantitative, relational in scope, non- experimental, and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 260 digital panoramic radiographs of patients aged between 8 and 22 years. An observation form was used to collect data, including chronological age, decimal age, gender, and dental maturation stage. The Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient was calculated to assess the relationship between chronological age and the stage of mandibular third molar maturation. The results demonstrated a significant correlation for both dental pieces, with a value of r=0.957. Additionally, the degree of mandibular third molar maturation was determined using the Demirjian method in panoramic radiographs, according to hemi- arcade. A matching percentage of 78.5% was highlighted, a significant outcome. The Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient showed a high and significant relationship between both variables for males (r = 0.874, p = 0.00, equivalent to 87.4%) and females (r = 0.887, p = 0.00, corresponding to 88.7%). Likewise, a high and significant relationship between both variables was observed for males (r = 0.982, p = 0.00, equivalent to 98.2%) and females (r = 0.868, p = 0.00, corresponding to 86.8%). In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between chronological age and the stage of maturation of the mandibular third molar.
