Aspects related to decision-making in the choice of gender-based contraceptive methods at the Wanchaq Health Center Wanchaq 2016. Descriptive, prospective, correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional study, whose objective is to determine the aspects related to decision-making in the choice of contraceptive methods with gender equity, in 108 users interviewed. Results: The general characteristics are age from 35 years old to over 64% male, 52% female, secundary education level, marital status 54% of the couples are cohabiting, the origin is urban 80%, number of children 68% have 3 children 60% of women have health insurance, catholic religion, intrauterine device 6%, pills 20%, injectable quarterly 24%, injectable monthly 38%, implants 8% and condoms 4%, 54% do not use mobility , And the time to go to the health facility is 15 to 30 minutes in 80%, the quotas are reached in 100%, in regard to the hours of care 70% prefer in the morning, the decision 54% by Part of both, 42% decision of the users and 4% decision of the couple, 64% the couple knows about the method of contraception that they use, 88% go without the couple to the attention in family planning. Conclusions: Contraceptive choice is by the user, although if they received counseling on contraceptive methods the majority did not understand well about each one, use the method desired and are satisfied with the care provided in the family planning office.
