Objective: Determine the prevalence of thrombocytopenia and hypoalbuminemia in cirrhotic patients hospitalized at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco EsSalud-Cusco National Hospital between January 2022 and March 2023. Methods: Analytical, correlational, observational and retrospective study. A sample of 130 patients was obtained, who met the inclusion criteria. The univariate and bivariate analysis was carried out, to determine the association between categorical variables, the statistical significance was used where it was evaluated through the p values that were calculated from the Chi square calculation. Results: A prevalence of thrombocytopenia of 83.1% and hypoalbuminemia was found to be 83.8% in cirrhotic patients. The greatest etiology of liver cirrhosis is due to alcohol, being 49.2%. The degree of thrombocytopenia and hypoalbuminemia found is mostly moderate. The complications identied are ascites in 60%, encephalopathy 58.5%, esophageal várices in 50.8% and hepatorenal syndrome 25.4% and a mortality of 32.3%. Moderate thrombocytopenia will be related to esophageal várices in 53.8%, with a statistically significant association with p = 0.043. The presence of moderate hypoalbuminemia is a good indicator of mortality in 50.0% with p = 0.05, ascites in 44.9% with p = 0.04 in both complications with statistically significant associations. Conclusions: Moderate thrombocytopenia is related to esophageal várices, while moderate hypoalbuminemia is a significant indicator of mortality and ascites.
