Objective: To determine the correlation between arterial hypertension and cognitivebehavioral disorders in older adults at the Cusco Metropolitan Medical Center, April-December 2022. Methodology: The based methodology was employed in a cross-sectional study of correlational designs. The population was comprised of 310 diagnosed with arterial hypertension from the Metropolitan-Cusco Health Center in the period April-December 2022. The Pfeiffer scale was used for cognitive impairment, the Beck anxiety inventory and the behavioral disorder. Beck Depression Inventory. Results: It was observed that 63.55% (197) of the participants did not present cognitive deficit. Regarding the levels of depression, it was found that the most predominant was moderate, with 60.97% (189) of the subjects. Regarding anxiety, the majority of the population presented moderate levels, with 71.94% (223) of the participants. There was a slight positive correlation between the variables systolic pressure and cognitive deficit (Spearman's Rho of 0.22 (95% CI 0.113-0.325)), on the other hand, the correlation found between systolic pressure and anxiety was very weak (Spearman's Rho is of 0.042 (95% CI -0.070, 0.153) being statistically insignificant. The correlation between systolic blood pressure and the depression scale score showed a weak positive correlation (Spearman's Rho=0.06 (95% CI -0.052-0.170 )), this being statistically insignificant. Conclusions: It is probable that in hypertensive patients with higher systolic pressure the cognitive deficit score is higher, which could lead to higher systolic pressure in hypertensive patients leading to cognitive deficit.
