The research: “Level of Knowledge and its Relationship with the Breastfeeding Technique in Primiparous Mothers who attend the CRED Clinic of the newborn of the Adolfo Guevara Velasco Hospital, Es salud, Cusco 2020“, aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and breastfeeding technique in firsttime mothers who attend the CRED clinic for the newborn of the Adolfo Guevara Velasco Hospital, Es salud, Cusco 2020. The method was descriptive, crosssectional and correlational, with a sample of 60 first-time mothers. The applied technique was the interview and observation and the instrument was an observation guide. RESULTS: The results found in the research are: 45% of the first-time mothers are between 23 and 29 years old, 77% have higher education and 55% of the newborns are male. Regarding the level of knowledge, 82% know the definition of breastfeeding, 57% know the definition of colostrum, 95% know the importance of breastfeeding, 87% know the preparatory actions, 68% do not know the suction time, 82% know the position of the neonate to breastfeed, 95% know the position of the hand in C, 53% are unaware of the signs of effective suction, 78% are aware of the conditions of inadequate breastfeeding technique, 68% know how he takes the nipple, concluding that the level of knowledge is adequate in 62% of the mothers. Likewise, it was found that mothers have signs of good functioning of the breastfeeding technique with respect to the position of the body in 83%, response in 83%, 94% to the affective bond and 92% to the anatomy, 80% have signs of difficulty in suction technique and 55% with regard to the time dimension, for which it is concluded that 67% have an adequate breastfeeding technique, so there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and breastfeeding technique with a p-value = 0.016, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted.
