The purpose of this research work is: to determine the relationship between the variable satisfaction with the chosen career and the variable academic performance of students of IV, V and VI cycle, 2019 I, at the Professional Accounting School of the Andean University of Cusco . The problem results from the observation of students who still do not adapt to the academic environment, there may be a percentage of students who do not feel satisfied by various personal needs, the tendency to pass with a grade of 14 is generalized, without claiming grades that show an excellent performance. As for the method, it has a quantitative scope, a basic noun; non-experimental correlational cross-sectional design. In a population and sample made up of 274 students enrolled in Semester 2019 I, data collection techniques are applied: survey, and documentary review. From Abraham Maslow's theory of needs, the student's perception is investigated; about their needs for security, belonging, esteem and self-fulfillment. The statistical analysis of the results allowed to reach the following general conclusion: The relationship between satisfaction with the chosen career and the academic performance of students is significant, with a result of 73% of the Pearson Chi-square association test and in Kendall's Tau-c test presents a correlation of 46.4%; by which result it is affirmed that dependency exists.
