The present research work entitled: QUALITY OF SLEEP AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN STUDENTS OF THE IV CYCLE OF THE PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL OF HUMAN MEDICINE AT THE ANDEAN UNIVERSITY OF CUSCO, 2020, aimed to explain the relationship between the quality of sleep and academic performance in students of the IV cycle of the Professional School of Human Medicine at the Andean University of Cusco, year 2020. The methodology used in this research paper corresponds to the quantitative approach of correlational descriptive scope because it seeks to determine the relationship between the variables quality of sleep and academic performance, the design is non-experimental as no variable is intended to be modified. The population in the present research work was represented by the students of the IV cycle of the Professional School of Human Medicine of the Andean of Cusco year 2020. The population represented by 224 students, considering non-probabilistic sampling. To measure the quality of sleep of the students, the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Questionnaire prepared by Daniel J. Buysse was used and which has been validated in 1989 in Pennsylvania, United States, this questionnaire is made up of 24 questions that have been distributed in a group of 7 dimensions. Said Questionnaire has the purpose of evaluating various aspects such as sleep latency, sleep duration, subjective sleep quality, possible sleep disturbances, habitual sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction, and the use of medications for to sleep. By other side, to determine academic performance, a questionnaire containing 16 items was developed and validated, encompassing the three dimensions of academic performance, which are conceptual, procedural and attitudinal performance. It was possible to identify that 95% of reliability exists a directly significant relationship between the quality of sleep and academic performance students of the IV cycle of the Professional School of Human Medicine, year 2020.
