A program is developed to continuously address a limited set of problems or needs of specific groups of the population by establishing areas of concentration in order to optimize the use of existing resources to achieve disaggregated objectives in specific areas . The oral health programs developed, in practice, almost do not incorporate preschool children, due to the high cost of treating primary dentition, because the pieces will be replaced; although theoretically, the child population is a priority in health programs. Objective: evaluate the impact of promotion and prevention programs for oral health in twenty communities in the province of Anta this year. Methodology: quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional observational study; made up of 100 families from 20 16, 17, 18 communities with children between 3 and 5 years old and who meet the selection criteria. Results: these indicate that the individual and / or collective attention means for the study sample the most appropriate space for the care of the oral dental health with a 68% of participation. Strategies for the promotion and prevention of oral health are absent from the perception of the study sample. The average value of decayed teeth in children between 3 and 5 years is 10.54 ± 3.57; 0.48 ± 0.98 for missing or missing teeth and 0.96 ± 1.17 sealed teeth. 58% of the people surveyed consider the dentist as a person who is only dedicated to cure, but not to prevent, 68% affirm that they brush their teeth, 72% have the habit of brushing once a day, the 46% use toothpaste and toothbrush, 98% do not floss, 62% have bad breath and 62% visit the dentist only if they have a toothache. Conclusions: it has not been possible to identify any strategy for the promotion and prevention of oral health that is conveniently used in the 20 communities of the province of Anta, the evaluation of oral health in children aged 3 to 5 years is very bad regarding the results obtained with the ceo Index and Green and Vermillon Index. There is no awareness of the population regarding oral health care, the dentist is perceived as a person who only cure, but does not prevent. The concordance between the work of the dental sector at a promotional and preventive level and the educational promotional work of the teaching sector, is reflected in poor oral health care, that is, it is absent.
