Objective: Establish the relationship between dyspnea and quality of life in post-hospitalized COVID-19 patients at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco-EsSalud National Hospital in Cusco, 20202021. Methods: This research corresponds to a study of correlational, observational, analytical and transversal scope. The population studied was made up of post-hospitalized COVID-19 patients during the years 2020-2021 from the Adolfo Guevara Velasco-EsSalud National Hospital in Cusco. For which the Medical Research Council (mMRC) scale and the SF-36 health questionnaire were used. Results: It was observed that the majority of respondents, 74.1%, rate their quality of life as average, concentrating on levels 0 and 1 of dyspnea, which indicates that people with less respiratory difficulty tend to perceive their quality of life in a more positive way. Those who report a very low (9.9%) and low (6.4%) quality of life are also distributed among the lowest levels of dyspnea, with a notable presence at the highest levels, suggesting that increased Dyspnea can negatively affect the perception of quality of life. 9.6% (27) perceive their quality of life as high, at the lowest dyspnea levels (0 and 1), which reflects that lower dyspnea is associated with a better perception of quality of life. Kendall’s Tau_b correlation between mMRC and quality of life, with a coefficient of -.016 and a two-sided p-value of .769 based on 282 observations, indicates a very weak and statistically non-significant relationship between the degree of dyspnea (mMRC ) and the general perception of quality of life. Conclusions: Our study confirms that there is no relationship between dyspnea and quality of life in patients post hospitalization for COVID-19 in the Hospital Nacional Adolfo Guevara Velasco-EsSALUD del Cusco, 2020-2021.
