The objective of this research is to calculate the pavement condition index of the section Pisac (CU-112) km 02+000 - Qantus Raqay (CU-964) km 00+750, which is located in the Pisac district, province of Calca. , department of Cusco, through the PCI method, which is detailed in the ASTM D 6433-18 standard, which allows proposing a solution to improve the operational condition of the road. Research was developed based on a quantitative approach, descriptive level and hypothetical - deductive method. To carry out this research, a topographical survey was carried out to obtain a basic road inventory of 7352 meters of asphalt pavement, without taking into account the geometry of the road in order to obtain the location of 57 sample units, which were evaluated by means of of data collection surveys through a visual auscultation of the failures classified in the ASTM D 6433-18 standard (Standard Procedure for the Inspection of the Condition Index of the Pavement in Roads and Parking Lots), where the quantity, location, area and severity. Through the pavement condition index, which was found to be in a REGULAR condition, it generated a category of negative action for the road, but, as it is a road that produces social and economic development. It was considered to propose a solution, which will consist of maintenance to increase the current PCI in order to increase the useful life of the track. That is why it was concluded with the solution proposal where the maintenance of the sections that are in EXCELLENT, VERY GOOD, GOOD, REGULAR, BAD, VERY BAD condition was proposed, which increased the condition of the road to GOOD, but, for a longer useful life, the rehabilitation of the sections that are in a COLLAPSED condition is recommended to generate an EXCELLENT condition for the road.
