The dyslipidemia and obesity are a public health problem which has led to the development of various diseases, mainly cardiovascular diseases, possibly due to the lack of knowledge and awareness in the general population. The present research work aims to show that dyslipidemia and obesity are risk factors for the development of venous thromboembolic disease in patients hospitalized at the Hospital Regional of Cusco. The data collection technique was applied, the instrument of which was the use of medical records and a record card where the data were recorded for the development of this work, with the aim of determining the relationship of dyslipidemia and obesity as risk factors for the development of venous thromboembolic disease, applying the statistical Chi square model, Odds ratio, concluding that dyslipidemia and obesity are risk factors for the development of venous thromboembolic disease in hospitalized patients at the Hospital Regional of Cusco, which suggests working in the awareness and healthy lifestyles in the population that improve the decrease in dyslipidemia and obesity.
