This research seeks to determine the comparative analysis between the surface evaluation of the pavement using the PCI and VIZIR methodologies as a direct method and the use of an RPA as an indirect method of the PE 3S road, Quiquijana – Cusipata section, during the year 2022. The surface evaluation of the flexible pavement of the Quiquijana – Cusipata section was carried out directly or conventionally using the regulation "ASTM D6433-07" and the "instructions for the visual inspection and evaluation of the deterioration of asphalt pavements of roads" proposed by the National Institute of Roads of Colombia (INVIAS) for the PCI and VIZIR methodologies respectively. Likewise, a remotely piloted aircraft model Phantom 4 pro V2.0 Obsidean was used to capture images at a flight height of 30 meters, which served for the elaboration of orthophotos and digital elevation models that made possible the surface evaluation of the pavement indirectly. Achieving results that were statistically compared through the Student's T test for related samples and the Wilcoxon sign range test. As for the PCI methodology, for the direct evaluation an average value of 42.48 was obtained, qualifying the pavement of the studied section as "REGULAR", for the indirect evaluation through an RPA an average value of 43.89 was obtained, qualifying it as "REGULAR". To perform a comparative analysis between results, Student's parametric T test was applied for related samples, where a p-value of 0.056 was obtained, which is greater than the significance level 0.05; therefore, it is concluded that there is no significant difference between PCI results evaluated directly and indirectly. As for the VIZIR methodology, for the direct evaluation an average value of 3 was obtained, qualifying the pavement of the studied section as "REGULAR", for the indirect evaluation through an RPA an average value of 2.9 was obtained, qualifying it as "REGULAR". To perform a comparative analysis between results, the nonparametric test of ranges with Wilcoxon sign was applied, where a p-value of 0.157 was obtained, which is greater than the level of significance 0.05: so, it is concluded that there is no significant difference between VIZIR results evaluated directly and indirectly. This proves that the use of an RPA provides reliable and decisive results.
