The objective was to compare the postnatal growth pattern in term newborns according to the type of milk feeding received by the infant during the first six months of life in the Primary Care Center of the City of Cusco from January to August 2022. performed a descriptive, comparative, retrospective, longitudinal, non-experimental study. Surveys and data collection were carried out and tabulated in Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS 25 software. For the analysis of categorical variables, the Chi-Square test and the Student's t-test were used to verify the hypothesis. A total of 203 infants were studied, comparing exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) and mixed breastfeeding (MMB) feeding and evaluating weight-for- age, weight-for-height, height-for-age, and head circumference-for-age indicators. In all the registered ages, it was found that when performing the t test, significance values of less than 0.05 were observed in favor of the LME. And, when analyzing the incidence of respiratory infections and the type of milk feeding, it was found to be statistically significant (0.041) at 4 months, while, in the incidence of gastrointestinal infections, significant values were found (0.0001) from 3 up to 6 months. It is concluded that the EBF until the sixth month of life has a significant influence on the best growth evaluated by the indicators of weight for age, weight for height, height for age and head circumference for age, as well as in the lower incidence respiratory and gastrointestinal infections.
