the management of acute diarrheal disease is not the most appropriate in our environment, since it has been seen that there is low adherence between standard treatment based on clinical guidelines and real treatment, using Frequently procedures not supported by scientific evidence, such as the performance of auxiliary tests, the results of which can sometimes be misinterpreted, causing unnecessary interventions such as the antibiotic population, thus generating false expectations of management in the population and increasing misinformation. Methods: A type of retrospective, cross-sectional, observational study with a quantitative approach was carried out. A review of the Hospital Management System was carried out to corroborate the diagnosis established under CIE10, which were subsequently contrasted with the electronic medical records in 330 children of the Metropolitan CM and HNAGV. Finally, a database was created in the SPSS Version 16 program. Expected Results: 330 patients under five years of age with a diagnosis of EDA were studied, 165 belonged to the HNAGV same center that had 100% of pediatric doctors as the specialty of the care manager, and 165 to the CMM who had pediatric doctors (82.42%) and doctors (17.58%), with a mean age of 1.53 years with a male predominance of 51.2%, finding that there is a statistically significant difference in terms of the diagnostic and therapeutic approach of acute diarrheal disease in children under five years of age with a value of (p <0.05). The hemogram was the most requested auxiliary examination, predominantly by the medical staff of the CMM (42.43%), 21.2% received antibiotic treatment and Azithromycin was the drug most prescribed by the HNAGV doctors in 20% of cases. Conclusions: It was demonstrated that there is a statistically significant difference “with a value of P <0.05“ between the personnel responsible for care (pediatrician and general practitioner) of the HNAGV and the CMM both in the diagnosis and in the therapeutic management of ADDs in children under five years.
