Periodontal disease is a major public health problem in all countries of the world, affecting the gums and bones that support the tooth. The objective is to evaluate the in vitro antibacterial effect of Schinus Molle “Molle“ essential oil at different concentrations on the Aggregatibacter Actinomycetemcomitans performed in the laboratory of the Andean University of Cusco. The type of study is pure experimental, in vitro, laboratory. The study was composed of 80 Petri dishes contained with the pure strain of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, which was reactivated in Mueller Hinton enriched agar and BHI broth, to subsequently be placed paper disks embedded by essential oil with the different concentrations and incubated at temperature of 35 ° C for 48 hours under anaerobic conditions. The tests were performed in duplicate, performing five repetitions to determine their sensitivity with the kirby-Bauer method where inhibition halos formed around discs were measured, determining their sensitivity according to the Duraffourd scale. The results showed that at concentrations of 25%, 50% and 75% they showed no antibacterial effect in 48 and 72 hours. At 100% I present 12 mm halo of inhibition at 48 hours. at 72 hours I form a 13 mm inhibition halo being sensitive according to scale. It was concluded that there was a statistically significant difference against 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate.
