This work of research entitled “level of knowledge and use of the contraceptive pill emergency in the INSTITUTO SUPERIOR TECNOLÓGICO ANTONIO LORENA nursing students, CUSCO 2017“. Formulates the following problem:what is the level of knowledge and use of the emergency contraceptive pill in the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Antonio Lorena, Cusco; nursing students 2017? As objective: to determine the level of knowledge and use of the emergency contraceptive pill in the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Antonio Lorena, Cusco; nursing students 2017. The methodology is descriptive, transversal type, quantitative in nature; the questionnaire was used as a research tool. According to pre-established . categories of study, was established the following general characteristics: age varies between 16 and 25 years of age, marital status mostly unmarried, gender the majority of female students and with regard to religion in the vast majority are Catholic. Use only 39.4% of the total number of students use it, 39.3% use it with a frequency of more than two times a year, 41.1% does not require a prescription for their use, 75% obtained the pill in a pharmacy, 39% was recommended by her friend 38% use it among the 24 to 72 postcoital 53.6% hours makes use of levonorgestrel, 16.07% breast present sencibilidad and tiredness, 57% received information about contraception in school, 48% did not use any method regularly after emergency contraception, in terms of knowledge only 1.4% have level of knowledge good and 94.4% has poor knowledge. Conclusion, the participants filled a survey, which it personally with a consent to participate, on a voluntary basis in the present research
