This research was made from the need to create adobes resistant to moisture and water, that is why we proceeded to the investigation of mucilage of tuna, seeing as convenient its waterproofing properties in the adobe. It was elaborated of blocks of adobe with dimensions of 25x13x10 cm with addition of straw of 10cm of length, also the water was replaced by mucilage of tuna in the percentages of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% with respect to the weight of water. The tests carried out in the field consisted of tests of Color, Dental, Olfactory, Brightness, Rolled, Dry Resistance of the litlle sphere and Test of the Bottle, all these for the selection of the land with which the adobes were elaborated; the laboratory tests were Limits of Atterberg and Granulometry and Moisture Content, which gave us the result of Arcillo Sandy soil. The adobe after its manufacture had a curing time of 30 days, but the tests were carried out from the 7 days of curing since they presented an apparently total drying; at 7 days, the Compression Resistance test was carried out, in which an increase in the compressive strength was obtained when the increase of the muzzle of tuna in the adobes was higher; at 18 days the same tests were also performed showing a slight favorable increase in the results; at 30 days the Absorption, Suction, Resistance to compression, Swinburne Accelerated Erosion (SAET), in these tests a better result was also observed when the increase in tuna mucilage was higher. So, in the Absorption Test, the adobes with 75% and 100% were the only ones that could be evaluated, because the other percentages lost mass in the Adobe unit, in the Suction Test the adobes with 50% 75 % and 100% could be evaluated and the other percentages on contact with the water began to disintegrate and lost weight and mass of the Adobe, in the Tests of Resistance to Compression showed better results in the adobes with 100% in the Erosion Test Accelerated Swinburne (SAET) presented the best results the adobe to 75% and 100% of tuna mucilage since all Adobes units complied with the A Spanish standard. It is concluded that the improved adobe has higher resistance to compression, resistance to erosion and resistance to absorption than traditional adobe.
