This study aimed to find the relationship between stress levels and academic performance in internal medicine, he took as a sign to all internal human medicine who performed the hospital admitted to the Regional Hospital of Cusco, in the which he tried to find a list of the different degrees of stress and academic performance which is reflected in their grades in different rotations, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology Pediatrics. It was determined that high levels of stress (distress) significantly influence academic performance, since high stress levels correlated with lower academic performance. The research project was carried out with 34 medical interns from various national and foreign universities, between men and women, of which it was determined that; the most common stressors were: I'm about to explode and I feel tired. Stress levels generated by specialty yes differences in academic performance by specialty, with four specialties rotating, subject to moderate stress and distress. It was concluded that internal medicine rotation,to moderate stress women have higher academic achievement than boys, however distress presence of no significant difference between the sexes. In the fields of gynecology and obstetrics surgery, no significant difference by sex, however in the specialty of pediatrics, distress was observed that males have higher academic performance unlike women. In relation to the merits was concluded that men have higher academic achievement to moderate stress to distress, internal national universities, rotating the specialty of internal medicine. Specializing in surgery, men from national universities, have higher academic performance with distress, but in pediatrics and gynecology no significant difference. Finally it was concluded that, starting the medical internship there is more distress with lower academic performance regardless of men and women; however, on completion of the internship, the stress is moderate and academic performance decreases. In both situations, low academic performance. It also concluded that if there is significant difference between stress and academic performance, the more moderate stress, better academic performance.
