The following research aimed to describe the relationship between the variables of coping styles and resilience in the mentioned population. The study was limited under a quantitative approach, descriptive-correlational type of cross-section and non-experimental design. The work was carried out with a population of 189 patients with a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD), all of them outpatient, among men and women of legal age, and who voluntarily agreed to sign the informed consent. From the correlational analysis between the referred variables and their corresponding dimensions, it was shown that there is a statistically significant relationship between stress coping styles focused on the problem (P = .000) and on other factors (P = 0.015), and resilience; Coping styles that focus on emotion (90.1%) and the problem (83%) are the most predominant, and a large majority also have high levels of resilience (89%). Concluding that some patients tend to use their resilience to cope with stress by focusing on the problem; however, others misuse it to evade or deny it, thus hindering their recovery.
