The main objective of this research work is to diagnose the state of conservation of the natural resource “Pampachiri Stone Forest”; in order to, on this basis, develops actions for its maintenance and adequate adjustment in value, so that way it becomes a tourist attraction that constitutes a potential pole of local development. This natural resource is located in the Pampachiri district, province of Andahuaylas, department of Apurímac, it is an imposing attraction of volcanic rock formations, which have been capriciously molded by nature, constituting an impressive tourist resource that attracts to own and strangers. However, it has not been subject to studies for its adequate conservation, not contacting a minimum maintenance for its protection and care; generating its loss and lost of value and originality. The research developed is descriptive, with a quantitative approach at the basic level and a non- experimental research methodology. The gathering of information was carried out through direct observation and the application of surveys. The results were analyzed and interpreted, based on the established indicators and dimensions. In this way, it was possible to determine that the Bosque de Piedras de Pampachiri is in an unfavorable state of conservation, mainly due to the lack of signaling for its access, the non- exit of an internal route and the consequent treatment of its rock formations; requiring the intervention of responsible Entities, in order to achieve their recovery and enhancement. The above is relevant because it is a natural resource that has sufficient motivational strength and the potential to be a pole of local development.
