The objective of this research is to determine the prevalence of soft tissue calcifications of the maxillofacial region in panoramic radiographs of the Explora Radiological Center of the city of Cusco in the years 2107-2018. The scope of the research is Descriptive, documentary, observational and transversal-retrospective. The study population consisted of 2470 panoramic radiographic images of patients from the age of 20 who attended the Explora Radiological Center of the city of Cusco from January 2017 to December 2018. To find the sample size, a formula for finite populations was applied, which resulted in a final sample of 333 panoramic radiographs. A stratified and systematic probabilistic sampling was applied, and for data collection, the observational method was applied using a data collection sheet validated by experts. For the data analysis, a Descriptive Statistical analysis was applied to show the results, which were expressed in tables according to the objectives of the present investigation. In the results it was obtained that the prevalence of calcifications was 50.5%, the most prevalent being those of the Ligamentous type (Calcified Stylehyoid Processes) with 26.43%, followed by those of the Vascular type (Ateromas and Flebolites) with 11.11% and the Sinus Type (Antrolitos) with 8.41% The conclusion was that the prevalence of soft tissue calcifications of the maxillofacial region on panoramic radiographs of the Explora Radiological Center of the city of Cusco in the years 2017-2018 is 50.5%.
