In recent years researchers in the area of seismic engineering were evaluating the standards and innovating new parameters that would provide a better response to earthquakes that could occur, in the case of parameters found in the Peruvian Technical Standard for Analysis of elevated tanks can verify that the investigations did not deepen in the subject being structures of essential use for the society, due to the daily use of the basic services. The ACI-350 of the United States presents an alternative proposal which has different parameters of solution against the analysis that is wanted to be carried out, an investigation of elevated tanks of octagonal configuration against a rectangular one was realized evaluating them with the norms NTP. E.030 and ACI-350 in the district of San Sebastian - Alto Qosqo of the city of Cusco. The parameters related to the Peruvian Technical Standard E.030 resistant earthquake will be evaluated in relation to the ACI-350 standards, which present similar parameters, with which a seismic-resistant analysis will be carried out, allowing the construction of the response spectrum corresponding to the standards Investigated, a hydrodynamic analysis will be performed for each structural configuration of octagonal and rectangular elevated tank which will provide better performance against the action of an earthquake. Within the analysis of data we will evaluate cutting moments, bending, axial forces and displacements that would develop our essential building through an essential dynamic analysis will finally culminate in the discussion, conclusions and recommendations.
