Every professional artist dedicated to the preservation and restoration of works of art must adequately protect their health, due to the exposure and manipulation of chemical elements and heavy or harmful objects. In this context, the study's objective was to determine the relationship of personal safety with the protection of the health of the students of the Professional Career of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art of the National University “Diego Quispe Tito“ of Cusco. This responds to a quantitative approach of correlational scope, with a non-experimental design, because it is based on the observation of the variables; It is also cross-sectional because the data collection was carried out on a single occasion. The unit of analysis was made up of a total of 101 students enrolled on the date of the study, considering only 70 students for the application of the questionnaires through a non-probability sampling. From the results processed with the SPSS statistical program, an inadequate level of health protection was obtained, which affects the personal safety of the students; reaching an average level, representing 84.4% of students who present some deficiencies in terms of their personal safety and related to the protection of their health. The results of the Pearson Chi-square statistic 2 26,601 were with a significant P value, in such a way, the alternative hypothesis is accepted, indicating that, with greater personal safety, this contributes to improving the protection of the student's health during the practical process of conservation. and restoration of works of art, and additionally a strong relationship between both variables is observed given by the value of 0,935 .
