In Peru, regular basic education is taught in the school, which is one of the essential and transcendental institutions for any society; it is a necessary space for learning, training and development of all people. Despite this, in our country the architecture of public schools is alien and closed to its immediate context and therefore to the community it serves; which is paradoxical considering that this typology should serve, be accessible, close and motivate learning in the educational community and the local community. The Alto Qosqo sector is a new urban area in the northeastern part of the city of Cusco, specifically in the district of San Sebastian, which originated approximately 20 years ago, through a gradual and disorderly process of division and occupation of land for housing purposes; it currently has about 27,075 inhabitants and no public educational infrastructure offered to this population. Understanding this situation and being aware that the function of architecture is to serve society, germinates the idea of proposing and developing a project of “Educational Infrastructure of primary and secondary level with integrated communal spaces in the sector of Alto Qosqo“, which responds to its context and local community, taking as theoretical bases the rational and functional architecture in addition to the flexibility and intensive use of educational environments; Thus, within its volumetric configuration, the project shows a clear language of the different activities that take place inside the building, achieving the architectural character that was sought to raise this project. For the design of the project, an analysis of international and national projects related to the architectural typology of the research work was carried out, and the proposal is based on current regulations, such as the National Building Regulations, the set of technical regulations for the design of educational premises for regular basic education issued by the Ministry of Education and local regulations. Finally, the architectural project proposal proposes an educational infrastructure with public spaces and complementary equipment for shared use, for educational, sports, cultural and recreational purposes, which will provide a sense of belonging and integration in this population, simultaneously reducing the educational demand and contributing to development by providing a better quality of life for the inhabitants of the Alto Qosqo sector.
