Peru has gone through the last two decades of the last century through a period of social upheaval caused by the terrorist violence of armed groups such as Sendero Luminoso and the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement, this situation seriously affected various social sectors, including the education sector. The purpose of this research has been to diagnose the Educational System during the process of violence in the VRAEM area during the period 2019-2020, and to analyze the way in which it affected the educational expectations of the student population. For this purpose, the mixed approach has been followed, the quantitative part for a descriptive diagnosis and the qualitative part to understand the impactcaused by terrorist violence on the right to education of children and young people in that area of the country. As a result, the brutal way in which terrorism captures children and young people to enlist them in its militarized ranks, separating them from their families and from the possibility of accessing education, frustrating their legitimate desires for self- improvement as human beings, has been evidenced. It has been possible to verify that, although schoolattention by State institutions has improved relatively, however, the coverage and quality of education is still very deficient. The results showa problem that has not yet been resolved and therefore requires that the State authorities deploy sustained efforts to protect the life and fundamental rights of young children affected by subversive violence.
