The objective of the research is to analyze the behavior of the cocoa production chain and its socioeconomic effects on the families of the Nueva Vida town center in the Megantoni district as of 2019. The type of study is descriptive with a quantitative approach since data will be used. statistics that are shown in the annexes. The information used was collected from the surveys that were carried out on cocoa-producing families in the town of Nueva Vida, which first described the social and economic aspects, then processed all the information into a database to then perform the analysis of the behavior of the variables that explain the problem raised on cocoa farmers and their families. Currently, in the town of Nueva Vida, families have higher incomes from cocoa production, taking advantage of the climate of the area and the land that is very favorable for this type of production, where this agricultural activity also presents an alternative for generating income. self-employment for the inhabitants of populated centers. The results of the investigation show us as the second source of income the agricultural activity of cocoa production with 35% in the population. Regarding the social aspect, 50% of the population does not have access to the main basic services, the cocoa production chain is deficient, in terms of production and marketing processes. It is finally concluded that the contribution of this agricultural activity is very important within these cocoa-producing families because agriculture is the main economic and self- consumption activity.
