The main objective of this research is to describe the relationship between the stressful life events and the antisocial and criminal behavior. For this purpose, a non-experimental descriptive study was developed, which included the participation of 198 male adolescent offenders from the Marcavalle Youth Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center in Cusco. Each participant was personally evaluated and the data collected was quantitatively analyzed using the SPSS v.25 statistical package. The results show that negative stressful life events are significantly and positively correlated with criminal antisocial behavior; obtaining that, among the negative stressful life events, the Behavior Problems dimension was presented with the highest frequency, while, curiously, the Personal dimension was the one with the lowest frequency, and at the same time, this last dimension was the one that, at the level of positive stressful life events, had a greater presence among adolescents, who also considered that the dimensions of Family and Health were those that were presented very infrequently. These latest data do not underestimate the importance of the Family topic, but, despite its low frequency, it was the dimension that obtained the highest scores among negative stressful life events; Therefore, and taking the statistical results as a reference, the importance that offender adolescents attribute to the Personal dimension as a protective factor is discussed, but not to the family, as is usually considered in “normal“ adolescent populations.
