Background: The pandemic caused by the coronavirus in 2019 (COVID-19) has affected children and adolescents. There are authors among them Rin Hetherington, Sarah A. Edwards and collaborators, in their study carried out in Canada they intend to explore the reasons for or against vaccination in children, as well as Evans, Un Klas, Un Mikocka - Walus and collaborators in their study conducted in Australia purport to explore the reasons behind the intentions. The objective of this research work was to determine the level of relationship between the knowledge and acceptance of parents about the vaccine against COVID-19 in the pediatric population (children from 5 to 11 years old), carried out at the Diego Quispe Tito school, period January - May 2022 Methods: The study methodology is of the Quantitative Type, of a correlational scope, with a cross-sectional - analytical design, where the Knowledge and Acceptance of the exposure of the vaccination against COVID-19 in parents who have children of 5 - 11 years old, from the Diego Quispe Tito school, period January - May 2022. The current population is 990 parents, the sample size is 298 parents. Results: Our research work concludes that the level of acceptance of parents of children between 5 and 11 years of age, who are aware of vaccination, was 14% more than those who are unaware of the vaccine against COVID-19. This result was not statistically significant since p = 0.243 was obtained. The mean age of the participants was 34 years; 62.15% are female, 63.35% of the participants have a Secondary or Higher Technical Education degree, 78.49% of the parents live in the San Sebastián district; 60.16% have only one child; Regarding the number of vaccines, 62.15% have all 3 doses of vaccines: and only 2 participants have 4 doses of the vaccine (0.8%; regarding the father's history of COVID-19, 58.96% did not have COVID-19 of which No 96.02% were hospitalized. Mothers are 15% more likely to vaccinate their children than fathers. In addition, there is a higher prevalence to accept vaccination at a higher level of education, this is significantly significant except for the university degree, in addition 74.5% IF they had knowledge about the vaccine against COVID-19, 65.74% IF they accept the vaccine against COVID-19 The main source of information for all participants was the visual media (39.44%), the main source of information for parents who accepted the vaccine was the visual media (74.75%). The reason for accepting the vaccine against COVID-19 in their children was to return to a normal life (47.81%), regarding the acceptance of the vaccine according to the history of getting sick from COVID-19, it was observed that there is a 19 % more acceptance of the vaccine in those parents who became ill with COVID-19, in addition, 74.5% have knowledge about the vaccine and 84.86% accept the vaccine against COVID-19. Conclusions: It is concluded that the higher the level of knowledge, the parents had a greater acceptance to vaccinate their children, and that a large percentage of the parents surveyed had knowledge about the vaccine against COVID-19, their main source of information being the media. vision and social networks.
