This research entitled: "FACTORS RELATING TO THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL IN STUDENT ENTRANTS TO THE FACULTY OF SCIENCES OF THE HEALTH OF THE UNIVERSIDAD ANDINA Cusco, 2017-I", aimed to identify factors related to the consumption of alcohol in students admitted to the Faculty of Sciences of the health of the Universidad Andina del Cusco, 2017-I. Study type: descriptive, transversal and correlational study; applied in a population of 339 students admitted. Reaching the results: 45% of students concerned that rarely consume alcohol, 6.6% indicated that it consumes alcohol 6 or more times a month; In addition the 42.2% consume 1-3 glasses per occasion and a 12.8% 7 more vessels. Regarding personal factors related to alcohol consumption, age was found (p = 0.056), sex (p = 0.033), reason for consumption (p = 0.025); It has significant relationship with the age of onset (p = 0.105). Family factors such as family life (p = 0.282), place as a son (p = 0.340), family history of consumption (p = 0.217), are not significant. Social factors the economic dependence are significant (p = 0.035), usual place of consumption (p = 0.048), has no relationship: amical antecedent (p = 0.941), type of beverage consumption (p = 0.585). There is no significant relationship with academic factors as: professional school (p = 0.666), year of graduation of the College (p = 0.094), class schedule (p = 0.119), schedule mode (p = 0.284), compliance with schedules by teachers (p = 0.393), perception of their academic performance (p = 0.489).
