Cusco, 2023. Metodología: No experimental, cuantitativa, retrospectiva y transversal,
cambio de pareja en el embarazo actual demostró un (OR=13,970; IC=0.02-243.4;
p=0.000), el tiempo de convivencia > 1 año (OR=1.833; IC=0.52-6.38; p=0.034) y la
The present study “Partner change and preeclampsia in pregnant women treated at the Cusco Regional Hospital, 2023”. Its objective was to: Determine the risk factor for changing partners and the development of preeclampsia in pregnant women treated at the Regional Hospital of Cusco, 2023. Methodology: Non-experimental, quantitative, retrospective and cross-sectional, correlational, case-control study. Whose sample consisted of 30 (cases) of pregnant women with preeclampsia and 50 (controls) of pregnant women without preeclampsia, both with change of partners. Results: Regarding the sociodemographic and personal characteristics, the majority of pregnant women are over 25 years old with 77.60%, have a marital status of cohabiting with 75%, a complete secondary education level with 45.00%, occupation as a housewife of home in 23.80%, on the number of children with their current partner of 1 with 40.00% and a number of pregnancies of 2 with 46.30%. Regarding the risk conditions for changing partners and developing preeclampsia, it was obtained; that the change of partner in the current pregnancy demonstrated a (OR=13.970; CI=0.02-243.4; p=0.000), the time of cohabitation > 1 year (OR=1.833; CI=0.52-6.38; p=0.034) and the frequency of sexual relations less than 5 per week is a risk factor. In addition, a prevalence of 6.8% was found, therefore, approximately 7 out of every 100 pregnant women could develop preeclampsia during pregnancy. Conclusions: Changing partners is a risk factor for the development of preeclampsia, which indicates that changing partners is 14 times more likely for pregnant women to develop preeclampsia than those who did not change partners.
