Introduction: The existing adherence at the interface between the masonry unit and the mortar is essential in masonry constructions as it is directly related to the resistance capacity that the wall will be able to withstand shear force, but this is impaired when the Mortar hardens quickly due to suction, so hydrated air lime is traditionally added to the mortar so that it retains water for a longer time; however, the problem of adherence persists because lime is not always added during the preparation of the mortar. mortar and it is necessary, in addition to moistening the masonry units, to retemper the mortar mixture. Objective: To determine the influence of the retempering process at different time intervals on the resistance capacity due to adhesion between the unit-mortar in buildings built in masonry with standardized mortar type P1, P2 and NP with masonry units in the district of San Jerónimo - Cusco Materials and methods: This is a quantitative study and due to its level it meets the characteristics of a descriptive study with an experimental design. The data of 07 samples were collected by type of test, by retempering period and by type of standardized mortar which were elaborated in the laboratory of the professional school of civil engineering of the UAC, selected by means of a non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. The study has been oriented to evaluate the incidence of retempering against the adhesion resistance capacity by diagonal compression, direct traction and by shearing taking as reference standardized mortars type P1, P2 and NP made with an initial fluidity between 100% and 120 % For this, preliminary tests of the components (masonry unit and mortar) were carried out with the objective of determining the retempering times of the study. Results: It was found that, in a work interval of approximately two hours, the workability of the mortar is recovered, but the resistance capacity due to adherence is diminished, observing that the ultimate resistance reaches 85% of the initial resistance for each one. of the types of standardized mortar. Conclusions: It is concluded that there was a sudden failure in the therefore the direct traction test is considered the one that best represents the adhesion resistance capacity, adjusting to the proposed hypotheses.
