This research focused on the study of the physical-mechanical properties of the mortar made with marble residues, in percentages of 10%, 15% and 20%, with respect to cement, compared with a traditional mortar made with Portland IP Type cement. For this, combined aggregates from the Cunyac quarry (70%) and Vicho (30%) were used. Previously, granulometry and fineness modulus, specific weight and absorption, moisture content, unit weight were tested. To obtain values, of these properties of the aggregates, for the design of the mortar, then, the variation of the resistance to the adhesion by bending of the mortar was determined after 28 days made with marble residues with respect to a traditional mortar. Also, the development curves of compressive and flexural strengths were constructed at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days with respect to a traditional mortar. Next, the variation in percentage of the fluidity of the standard and experimental mortar was determined. Finally, the optimal amount of the marble residue was identified with respect to the weight of the cement where the final strengths do not alter. For the test of resistance to the adhesion by flexion, piles based on cooked clay bricks of King Kong type of 18 holes of 24x12x9cm for bearing walls were constructed, using the standard ASTM E 518. For the test of resistance to compression was manufactured 5cm cubic molds per side as indicated by NTP 334.051, for the molding of the mortar, for the experimental mortar in different percentages and for the standard mortar. For the flexural strength test, 4x4x16cm prismatic molds were used as indicated by NTP334.120. For the fluidity test, said analysis of the mortars prepared for the compression and flexural strength test was determined, according to NTP 334.057. The conclusions reached were for the adhesion by bending to 15% of substitution of marble residues, an increase in resistance with respect to the standard mortar is evidenced by 7.05%, in addition, in the compression resistance test, a From 20% of substitution with marble residues begins to descend. On the other hand, in the resistance to bending of the mortar they experience slight improvements with respect to the standard mortar for contents less than 20% substitution. Finally, for the fluidity test, it can be seen that with the replacement of 10% marble residues in the mortar, with a / c ratio of 0.55, it reaches a fluidity of 119.37%. In fact, it is within the range of 100-120% of fluidity recommended for laying masonry units.
