Permanent canines are fundamental teeth due to their characteristics and esthetic functions, which is why it is important to know about their retention, impaction and inclusion in the upper jaw Objective: To determine the prevalence of unerupted permanent canines in digital panoramic radiographs of the Centro Estomatológico Universitario "Luis Vallejos Santoni" of the Universidad Andina del Cusco during the year 2022. Materials and methods: the research has a quantitative approach, descriptive scope, and non-experimental, cross-sectional design, where the population and sample consisted of 110 digital radiographs from the database of the University Dental Center, which met the inclusion criteria to be analyzed in the Irys software of the extraoral radiology area by means of the documentary and observational technique, using a data collection form as an instrument. Results: after data analysis it was obtained that Class II had a frequency of 69 (39.2%,) unerupted canines and Class IV a frequency of 50 (28.4%) dental pieces in the upper jaw, while no canine was found within Class VI unilateral and Class VII bilateral. Conclusions: It was concluded that Class II according to Ries Centeno's classification is the type of canine retained and included in the upper jaw and the female sex obtained a higher prevalence compared to the male sex, while no impacted canine was found in the selected sample.
