The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about oral health and dental behavior of parents in relation to the oral health status of children aged 3 to 5 years of the initial public educational institution No. 88 “Doris Vera Hermoza” - 2018, a pure correlational study, with a quantitative, prospective cross- sectional study, the observational communication technique was used where 133 parents were found and the oral analysis of 133 children from the initial institution was obtained mentioned. The sample was selected in a simple random way. The surveys of parents consisted of a questionnaire of 20 questions to determine the level of knowledge about oral health and another of 7 questions to determine dental behavior, in the same way children from 3 to 5 years were examined determining their CEOD index and the oral hygiene index (IHOS) to establish the oral health status. It was found that the majority of parents (72.2%) have a high knowledge of oral health, and 62.4% have regular dental behavior. Regarding children, the totality has a CEOD index below 1 that is categorized as “very low”, and 79.7% of the children have an optimal IHOS index so they have a good oral health status 79.7% No relation (p> 0.05) was found to the crossing of variables to establish independence relationship. In conclusion, no relationship was found between the level of knowledge about oral health and the dental behavior of parents in relation to the oral health of children aged 3 to 5 years (p> 0.05).
