Introduction: Medical interns are affected by stress and poor-quality sleep, which affects their performance and health. Objective: Determine the relationship between stress and sleep quality in medical interns Cusco, 2023. Materials and methods: Non-experimental, correlational, comparative and transversal research. Two questionnaires were used, the PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) to assess the sleep quality of medical interns and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) was used to assess the stress of medical interns. Results: The 88.2% of medical interns deserve medical attention and medical treatment., 81.5% of medical interns have medium stress, 3.3% have low stress where 2.5% deserve medical attention. Regarding sleep quality, 8.4% have a serious sleep problem and only 3.4% of medical interns deserve only attention on, 81.5% of medical interns have medium stress, which 73.1% deserve medical attention and medical treatment. Only 15.1% have high stress, which 12.6% deserve medical attention and medical treatment. Of 100% of human medicine interns, 3.3% have low stress, where 2.5% deserve medical attention and medical treatment. The female sex of human medicine interns deserves medical attention and medical treatment with 91.8%, 82.8% of the male sex have medium stress. When carrying out the relationship between stress and quality of sleep in medical interns, 73.1% of interns were found in this group with a significant statistical association (p=0.001), (CI:95%). Conclusion: There is significant relationship between stress and sleep quality in human medicine interns Cusco, 2023.
