The primary objective of the study was to elucidate the utilization of electronic commerce within the micro and small enterprises operating in the retail sector of Wanchaq district in the year 2023. The research employed a quantitative and descriptive methodology, involving a sample size of 196 micro and small businesses located in the Wanchaq district. The findings underscore that the adoption of electronic commerce by these enterprises involves the integration of digital tools at various stages of the sales process, with a predominant focus on payment mechanisms. However, there is a prevailing trend of not extensively relying on all-inclusive platforms designed exclusively for online trade, and a majority of these entities do not embrace home delivery as a modality. Importantly, despite the digital presence of some enterprises, it was discovered that nearly 60% generate minimal online sales. Furthermore, the investigation has revealed that the level of electronic commerce development in the district stands at an "intermediate" stage.
