This research proposes a way to implement the use of augmented reality applications in the tourism sector for the dissemination and revaluation of the historical and cultural heritage of Cusco, through the development of a mobile application to show the points of greatest interest within the center historical of Cusco, augmented reality for tourism has infinite fields of application and potential thanks to the growing spread of mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones, for this reason, the use of more powerful and effective augmented reality technologies has been taken into consideration As is ARCore, the augmented reality software development platform implemented by Google, the application is developed with Java, with the help of the Android Studio IDE. Augmented reality can play a key role in enjoying this experience pleasantly, by simplifying the methods of accessing information, in such a way that it improves the traveler's experience by making it more attractive and accessible. The agile Mobile-D methodology has been used for the development of the research project, since it provided a framework adaptable to our requirements, such as teamwork and delivery of revised and finished results, which allows the development and deployment of a product. fully functional and complete, and above all by the initially established requirements. During the last phase of the methodology, the application tests were carried out, which also included applying surveys on the usability of the application in some participants, which allowed to know the degree of usability, possible faults, verification of the application's functionalities, and obtain feedback. of the opinions of the respondents who have tried the application. Based on the results, we can verify that there is a good degree of acceptance by the users surveyed with the application and that augmented reality is a technology that is attractive to users.
