The present investigation poses as a problem: What is the relationship between internal control and the management of petty cash funds? In this sense, it seeks to determine the relationship between both variables, describing their behavior in the Tutelary Research Unit of the Ministry of Health. Woman and Vulnerable Populations of Mother of God; so an analysis of the existing theory is made and from which two instruments are elaborated consisting of two questionnaires, one to measure the behavior of the internal control variable and its dimensions with a total of 17 items and another to evaluate the behavior of the variable management of petty cash funds with a total of 16 items, applying to a sample of 22 people that are the total of the workers of the institution. The study is of a descriptive type, carried out under a quantitative approach, with a correlational and transversal design, since it seeks to establish the relationship between the study variables in a single moment; concluding that the level of correlation according to the Pearson r between the internal control and the management of petty cash funds is 0.140, that is to say that there is a positive relationship between both variables, but the relationship is low, having at the same time a level of dependence of 1.96% between both variables.
