The present investigation aims to determine the effect of climate change on the production of starchy corn in the province of Urubamba during the years 1980 - 2040, the methodology for carrying out the investigation consisted of analyzing the climatic variability (maximum temperature, minimum temperature and precipitation) and the production of starchy corn in the period between 1980 and 2021, this analysis allowed us to generate an econometric model made in the Eviews statistical package for the projection of production and climate variability for the period from 2021 to 2040., for the analysis of the correlations, the SPSS statistical package was used to determine which of the variables under study has the greatest influence on production. The production data provided were from the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) and the climatic database was obtained from the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI). The results show that there is a direct correlation between temperature and the production of starchy maize, while there is no correlation in precipitation. It is concluded that climate change influences the production of starchy corn by 72%, and in the case of yield by 61%; In the same way, the projection of the maximum temperature will increase by 1.38 °C; minimum temperature of about 0.57 °C and precipitation of about 126.44 mm for the year 2040.
