The present study entitled “LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PNEUMONIA IN MOTHERS OF CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE WHO COME TO THE HEALTH CENTER OF COMBAPATA, CANCHIS, CUSCO - 2017“. The objective of the present study was to determine the level of knowledge about pneumonia in mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend the Health Center of Combapata, Canchis, Cusco - 2017. The methodological design was descriptive and transversal, the study population was constituted by 70 mothers of children under 5 years old, who go to the Combapata Health Center. The technique used was the interview and the instrument was the survey. Of the results obtained in the research: 43% of mothers have an age of 26-30 years, 43% have a high school education degree, 40% have a farmer occupation, 64% speak Spanish and Quechua, 51 % have 1 to 2 children; in relation to the concept of pneumonia, 53% of mothers know what pneumonia is; 37% have knowledge about the forms of contagion; 40% know the causes of pneumonia, 46% know about the danger signs, 40% know the complications of pneumonia, 46% know about prevention measures, 74% know where to go if the child has pneumonia, 48 % know about feeding their children with pneumonia, 44% know about overcrowding, 43% know about the importance of vaccines, 33% have good knowledge level; 53% regular and 14% bad . Conclusions: 53% of mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend the Combapata Health Center are regular.
