The present investigation entitled "THE LEGAL DEFENSE OF THE PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE IN THE PRESERVATION OF THE INTERESTS OF THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT - CUSCO, JANUARY - SEPTEMBER 2023" had as its main objective to Analyze the difficulties faced by the Public Prosecutor's Office in the processing of processes when defending the interests of the Regional Government - Cusco, January-September 2023. Having as a research methodology a type of basic applied research, with a qualitative approach and with the design of grounded theory; The main results were the obtaining of interviews applied to the staff of the regional public attorney's office, as well as the corresponding analysis of the procedural burden that is an integral element in the negative consequences of the difficulties in the financial results that it affects. even the exclusion or continuation of personnel who work in the attorney general's office and thus have an increase in the burden but not in the human resources necessary to be able to face judicial processes in an adequate manner; In this understanding, the main conclusion is that: It was demonstrated that the lack of human resources and equipment in the Regional Attorney's Office significantly weakens the capacity of the regional government to defend its interests in legal disputes. Shortages of trained staff and lack of appropriate tools contribute to poor representation in court, increasing the risk of losing crucial cases.
