The purpose of this research work is to demonstrate how the rural tourism activity carried out in the peasant communities of Willoq and Patacancha is a complementary activity to the agricultural activity and that allows the inhabitants of both communities to obtain extra income and from this Way to have a better quality of life. This rural tourism activity that is practiced in the peasant communities of Willoq and Patacancha is based mainly on accommodation, food, commercialization of handicrafts and porter services. The accommodation and food service is carried out by the residents who have conditioned their homes to accommodate the tourists who visit these communities, although the service is regular, some aspects such as basic services and rooms still need to be improved; With regard to food service, typical dishes of the area are offered. Regarding the commercialization of handicrafts, they are generally jewelery and fabrics made by the women of the area that are offered to visitors and the activity of the porter is generally carried out by men and it is only by tourism season and the routes that performed is the Inca trail to Machupicchu, it is a job that requires a lot of physical effort and the remuneration received does not compensate for all the effort made. According to the statistical analysis carried out, it was shown that rural tourism activity is related to total income, since this activity in general allows the dynamization and sustainability of the economy of the communities of Willoq and Patacancha (that is, their income improves).
