a intervenir.
ausente en el día 1, y posteriormente, una sensibilidad leve en los días 7 y 14;
Introduction: Whitening is a treatment of an oxidation and reduction reaction that lightens the superficial layer of the tooth; and, although it is not invasive, it can cause some effects such as a sensation of sensitivity. Objective: To compare the sensitivity during and after whitening with 35% and 20% carbamide peroxide, in adult patients from the Chiclayo fence in the months of april and may of the year 2022. Material and methods: It is an explanatory-experimental study with two groups to intervene. The 35% carbamide peroxide whitening gel was applied to the first group; while the second group received 20% carbamide peroxide to measure the level of sensitivity of the patients with a VAS scale, at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end. Results: The effect of 20% carbamide peroxide on the dental sensitivity of patients obtained a higher percentage of mild on day 1, then, an absent sensitivity on days 7, 14 and 20; On the other hand, the effect of 35% carbamide peroxide on the dental sensitivity of patients obtained a higher percentage of absence on day 1, and later, a mild sensitivity on days 7 and 14; returning to a lack of sensitivity on day 20 (p<0.05). Conclusion: There is a statistical difference between the averages of dental sensitivity between 20% carbamide peroxide and 35% carbamide peroxide 7 days after the application of treatment in both jaws; 20% carbamide peroxide presenting less sensitivity.
