The general objective of this research was to determine the relationship between psychomotor skills and learning to read and write, in five-year-old children, from Private Initial Educational Institutions, Trujillo, 2024. For this, a basic type of research, with a non-experimental design, has been developed. , correlational; in a sample of 123 five-year-old children from five initial educational institutions in Trujillo; the technique used is observation and the checklist instrument. The results show that the level of psychomotor skills is medium in 54% of children and the level of reading and writing is medium in 47% of children. In addition, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov data normality test was applied to establish the Spearman correlation test according to which it was established that there is a significant positive relationship between fine psychomotor skills and literacy, as well as a positive relationship between gross psychomotor skills and literacy. A p- value=0.000 and Spearman's Rho of 0.624 were also obtained between psychomotor skills and literacy, so it is concluded that there is a significant relationship between psychomotor skills and literacy in 5-year-old children of the I.E
